We love beautiful shoes as much as anyone — and we aodre photographing them at weddings. We know you’re putting a lot of thought and time into finding that perfect, magical pair for your big day: they have to be the right hue, the right height, and absolutely gorgeous!
But, on your hunt for that perfect pair, don’t forget that Whistler is a mountain town! When thinking about footwear, we need to consider where the ceremony will take place, and the spots you’ve chosen for your photos afterward. It might get rugged when you’re getting married in the Sea to Sky Corridor!
We know that if you’ve found us, you’re an adventurous bride. That means you’ll probably be excited when we take you off the beaten path for some photo opportunities!
There might be a snowy walk, or a snowbank to get over. We might be on a sandy beach with some splashing waves. Maybe we’ll take you up a steep and rocky slope for that perfect shot. We know you’re up for anything — and a little adventure sometimes gets us the perfect shot!
Whichever of the four seasons your wedding is in, it makes sense to have a tote containing your additional footwear options. A lot of our brides come prepared with cozy warm Uggs for chilly summer evenings, or tall Hunter boots for all the rain we get in the spring and fall. In the winter, it makes sense to bring a pair of Sorels boots, or something else warm and grippy.
Having these practical options in tow will make sure your nice shoes are saved and in pristine condition for the reception!
Oh, and don’t forget about your wedding party — they’ll need some good changes of footwear, too. Having you and your ladies in matching rubber boots can make for some cute photos! But whether or not the practical shoes make it in front of the camera, you’ll want your party to have some footwear changes so that they can get to the photo locations easily.
And don’t skip over the guys: sometimes the gents need practical wedding shoe changes more than anyone, since their dress shoes usually have smooth and slippery soles.
We’re here to make sure your mountain wedding is as seamless and comfortable as possible. If you’re interested in chatting with us about capturing your big day in Whistler, please feel free to reach out to us here.
