At a recent Collective retreat, all our photographers were laughing hysterically over a glass of wine as we shared what we keep in our wedding trunks. It can seem ridiculous!
Yep, your photographer arrives fully equipped with a full trunk of objects that we might need while shooting your mountain wedding. We want to be ready for anything, and prepared to keep you comfortable and looking great while we capture the perfect shots.
Because these items might seem quirky, we thought we’d give you a little peek into what we truck around with us while we’re photographing your wedding! Ready?
We almost always have a set of matching clear umbrellas. It can get very rainy in the Sea to Sky Corridor, and the clear umbrellas look elegant while keeping you dry.
We’ll always have a shovel — in case we have to dig out a snowbank or create a little area for you to stand in, while surrounded by a winter wonderland!
We’ve also got a bag of salt or sand (weird but true!) in case we have to help you down some slippery, icy trails.
We’ll be carrying a set of rubber boots…because you never know, we might ask you and your party to splash around in a mountain lake for some creative shots.
On that note, we’ll also carry a change of clothes, in case you happen to get a little *too* wet on that mission!
We also carry a beautiful assortment of props, ranging from the sophisticated to the quirky. We might have vintage candleholders, a Moroccan poof, or a classic and cozy Hudson’s Bay blanket for you to snuggle up in.
Essentially, your Whistler Wedding Collective photographer is going to show up prepared for any situation, and fully outfitted to help you access some locations off the beaten path — all while looking fabulous and feeling comfortable the whole time.
That’s why we consider ourselves more than just photographers: we’re co-conspirators and support systems for your gorgeous and adventurous mountain wedding!
